Colouring pages are a major feature on our site – we love sharing both adulting colouring and kids colouring too. Today, we are sharing with you some very special sheets, our Coronation colouring pages which you can use to celebrate and commemorate the big day!

In this image, KiddyCharts is offering free coronation coloring pages to commemorate a historic day. Free Coronation colouring pages: What are they like?

We have three pages for you within our Coronation colouring pages; One of the pages is focused on older children, and adults, and the other for younger children. The adult one is slightly more complicated.

Both pages have a theme of the coronation, with the main crown in the middle of the page on a background of the union jack flag shape. Though children can, of course, colour in the flag however they would like:

Once you have done these – we have created a standalone crown colouring page for you to take a look at, and then colour in too. The great thing about the crown colouring page is that it also have a bit of room around it for your kids, or you, to add your own message and detail to the page.

You could even colour it in, frame it, and great a special memory / poster for the event!

Which one of these is your favourite, let us know.

Crown colouring page: our bonus for you! The diagram.

Thanks so much to the amazing x.x2808 for creating these for the site as well – a very talented young lady.

What is the King’s Coronation all about?

The coronation of a British monarch is a major event in British history – the last Coronation took place on 2nd June in 1953. We haven’t had a ceremony with this level of pomp and circumstance for 70 years as a result.

The Coronation is a ceremony that marks the official beginning of the monarch’s reign. The Coronation is a highly religious ceremony, but it also has a strong political significance.

It is a time for the monarch to swear an oath to uphold the laws of the land and to protect the people of the United Kingdom.

A large church with a medieval architecture, gothic tower, abbey, steeple, mission, and clock stands as a landmark in the outdoor sky.

The coronation ceremony is held in Westminster Abbey, London, with the King crowned with St. Edward’s Crown, one of the most important items in the Crown Jewels. The Crown Jewels are a collection of crowns, scepters, orbs, and other ceremonial objects that are used by the British monarch. The Crown Jewels are kept in the Tower of London, and we’ve been to see them (!), so make sure if you go you allow plenty of time to queue to get in!

Why colouring is good for both adults and kids

Colouring is a great activity for both adults and kids. It is a fun and relaxing way to express creativity. Colouring can also be a therapeutic activity. It can help to reduce stress and anxiety.

For our kids, colouring helps to improve fine motor skills. It can also help to improve hand-eye co-ordination, concentration and focus.

A toddler is using a marker and crayon to create art with office supplies on a Kiddy Chart in an indoor office setting.

For adults, colouring is also a great way to relieve stress. It can help to calm the mind and body. Colouring can also help to improve sleep quality.

Now we’ve shared why you might want to do the colouring, and a little bit about the Coronation, why not download the sheets?
